Jagjivan Sanatorium and chest clinic in the state of the Bihar has been serving the needs of tuberculosis patients since 1951. It is situated at the banks of the Sone river in Shankerpuri, Dehri-on-sone. It was started with only five beds. Today it can admit and provide treatment for more than a hundred patients. It has its own pathological laboratory, X-ray equipment, operation theater and facilities for tuberculosis treatment. It also maintains a clinic for diagnosis and treatment of outdoor patients.
For past three years, AODB has been providing support to this institute. This helps in the treatment of five fully hospitalization patients. It also holds one or two TB screening camps each year. In these camps, patients are examined and necessary outpatient medical care is provided. Approximately five hundred patients are examined in each camp.
